Gotti---01-Exterior-One-Point

Designing a restaurant is like creating magic for a big audience ! I used to always admire Criss Angel street performances !!

Our recent project GOTTI is an Italian restaurant in a Conversation Shophouse of Amoy Street . Our brief was to design a semi-casual place where people come post work for drinks and get one of the best pizzas in the city. Beside this the name GOTTI is an inspiration from the movie Gotti about an Italian American mafia, the clients wanted early 1900 masculine vibe in the restaurant.

Our design developed with the above brief keeping in mind the conservation department of Singapore . We have given equal importance to the bar area and the restaurant side of the space as requested by the client.

We kept the wooden existing ceiling and made it dramatic my adding gold mercury mirror which reflects , my favourite element of the design , the flooring. Wooden flooring with Italian marble gives a dramatic feel to the restaurant . The contrasting textures like slate on the wall , mirror polish marble on the bar and & dull gold arch bottle rack behind the bar are the pillars of the bar section . We have kept no light from the ceiling in the bar area , they are hidden behind the skirting, dado and arches .

The mood created for the restaurant is bit more dining with family and friends and thus the custom design and hand painted mural , which shows the time of early 1900 ; becomes the main focus of the space.
